About Guro Mike Keller

Mike R. Keller began his martial art training as a child, learning the western art of boxing from his father and grandfather. Beginning his Asian martial art training in 1972, Mr. Keller has earned black belts in many different styles. Mike spent many years competing on the boxing and kickboxing circuit, winning various titles at local events.

Mr. Keller was also a close quarter combat instructor in the USAF Security Police. He trained military personnel from all branches of the service and helped develop a training syllabus for CQB instructors.

As a civilian police officer, Mike served warrants for several years and says, "When you go to pick up a guy and put him in a cage for 20 or 30 years, you will find out what really works and you will be in the fight of your life". Today he is a TCLEOSE certified police instructor and continues to teach defensive tactics to local police departments.

To this day, Mr. Keller continues to seek training, and gives full credit for all his accomplishments to his instructors and students.

Assistant Instructor Chris Salas

Chris Salas is an assistant instructor at Keller's MMA in Sweetwater. Chris is currently a Brown Belt in Jeet Kune Do Concepts and not only teaches classes, but trains for competition in amateur MMA bouts. Chris is an exciting instructor and very technical in his instruction.
